Advanced Ethics – Special Topics (3 hours)

This 3-hour internet based course will provide information on applying ethical principles and decision-making in treating clients with the following specific issues: cultural diversity, criminal justice involvement, adolescence, and HIV/AIDS. Participants will learn some ways to apply this information to their practice whether in psychology, counseling, social work or substance abuse treatment. Links to other resources regarding ethics and healthcare issues are available throughout the course.

Goals/Objectives

By participating in this internet based course, the trainee will:

1. Increase knowledge regarding the application of ethical principles to special client issues
2. Increase knowledge and abilities in ethical decision-making with regard to cultural diversity, adolescent clients, criminal justice clients, and HIV/AIDS clients
