Connecticut AADC Certification Requirements and Course Package

What This Package Covers
Connecticut requires 360 hours of addiction-specific education for the AADC. CEU Matrix’s AADC package covers the full requirement:
- Substance Abuse & Co-Occurring Disorders training: 240 hours (includes 12 hours of CCB-approved ethics)
- Behavioral health electives: 108 hours

Certification Requirements
- Education Required: Master’s degree in a behavioral health field is required.
- Work Experience: 4,000 hours of supervised work experience specific to the AADC Job Analysis.
- Supervised Hours: 300 hours with no less than 10 hours in each performance domain.
- State Exam: Passing score on the IC&RC AADC exam.
Important Notes
Must live or work in Connecticut full-time to apply. Initial certification is issued for two years and is IC&RC reciprocal. Work experience and supervision forms must be notarized and signed by an active AADC, CCS, SCCS, or LADC. Official transcripts must be sent directly to CCB from the issuing institution.
Renewal Requirements
20 hours of addiction-specific training per year, including 2 hours of ethics.
