Important Notes
The CIT is an entry-level stepping-stone credential for individuals working toward full CAC certification. Valid for 3 years with no renewal option (for credentials issued after July 1, 2015). CEU Matrix’s CIT package covers 97 of the 100 required education hours — the maximum allowed via CCB-approved distance learning. The remaining 3 hours must be completed through the CCB Certification Process Overview Workshop (offered free of charge; live only; no equivalent courses accepted). All CIT application and renewal fees can be applied toward your future CAC application. Must live or work in Connecticut full-time to apply.
Renewal Requirements
CIT credentials issued after July 1, 2015 are not eligible for renewal — valid for 3 years only. Candidates must upgrade to full CAC certification within that window.
CIT credentials issued between July 1, 2013 and June 30, 2015 may renew once for 1 year, requiring 30 hours of addiction-specific training and 1 CEU of CCB-approved ethics.
