Certification Requirements
- Education Required: Master’s degree specific to the AADC domains.
- Work Experience: 2,000 hours of addiction-specific work experience relevant to the AADC domains.
- Supervised Hours: 100 hours of on-the-job clinical supervision, with a minimum of 10 hours in each of the 4 AADC domains.
- State Exam: Passing score on the IC&RC AADC exam.
Important Notes
The CAADC is an IC&RC reciprocal credential. A current employer-provided counselor job description — signed by both the applicant and their direct clinical supervisor — is required at time of application.
Renewal Requirements
40 hours of continuing education, including 3 hours of ethics, every 2 years.

Can I complete Delaware CADC training online?
