What This Package Covers

Delaware requires 180 hours of addiction-specific training for the CAADC. CEU Matrix’s CAADC package covers all 180 required hours across the IC&RC AADC domains (no limit on online education):

Certification Requirements

  • Education Required: Master’s degree specific to the AADC domains.
  • Work Experience: 2,000 hours of addiction-specific work experience relevant to the AADC domains.
  • Supervised Hours: 100 hours of on-the-job clinical supervision, with a minimum of 10 hours in each of the 4 AADC domains.
  • State Exam: Passing score on the IC&RC AADC exam.

Important Notes

The CAADC is an IC&RC reciprocal credential. A current employer-provided counselor job description — signed by both the applicant and their direct clinical supervisor — is required at time of application.

Renewal Requirements

40 hours of continuing education, including 3 hours of ethics, every 2 years.

What are the requirements for Delaware CADC certification?

Delaware requires 300 hours of addiction-specific training, a high school diploma or GED, 4,000 hours of work experience, 150 hours of clinical supervision, and a passing score on the IC&RC ADC exam.

Yes. Delaware does not limit online education hours for the CADC or CAADC. CEU Matrix offers the full 300-hour CADC package and 180-hour CAADC package online through Delaware Certification Board (DCB)-approved coursework.
