Certification Requirements
- Education Required: Master’s degree or higher in counseling, psychology, social work, addiction studies, art therapy, or MFT with clinical application.
- Work Experience: 2,000 hours providing counseling to those with SUD.
- Supervised Hours: 100 hours post-master’s direct supervision, with a minimum of 25 hours per IC&RC AADC performance domain.
- State Exam: Passing score on the IC&RC AADC exam.

IC&RC AADC reciprocal credential. 100% of education hours may be completed through home study/online delivery. Must complete education within 5 years of application.
Renewal Requirements
