Mississippi requires 192 hours of education for the CIC (Certified Intern Counselor) credential, covering the 12 Core Functions and 46 Global Criteria. Certification Requirements
- Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Work Experience: None required for initial certification.
- Supervised Hours: None required for initial certification.
- State Exam: Passing score on the IC&RC ADC exam.
Important Notes
Mississippi CIC is valid maximum 4 years from exam pass date and is non-renewable. During the 4-year period, must complete remaining requirements for CADC or CAADC. The CIC is designed for individuals who are motivated to pursue the CADC or CAADC.
Renewal Requirements
20 hours CE every 2 years; CIC valid maximum 4 years from exam pass date (non-renewable).
