Oklahoma 135-Hour CADC Initial Licensure

What This Package Covers

Oklahoma requires 270 total clock hours of education in alcohol and drug counseling, of which 135 hours must be drug and alcohol-specific. This CEU Matrix 135-hour package provides 135 hours toward the 270 hour education requirement for the CADC.

Certification Requirements

  • Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in behavioral science / counseling.
  • Work Experience: 4,000 hours (minimum 2,000 hours direct counseling).
  • Supervised Hours: 300-hour practicum (minimum 10 hours in each of the 12 core functions).
  • State Exam: IC&RC ADC exam.

Important Notes

A 300-word counseling methods essay and 3 professional references are required with the application.

Renewal Requirements

20 continuing education hours annually, including a minimum of 10 hours alcohol and drug-specific and 3 hours professional ethics.
