Oklahoma requires 180 total education hours for LADC and LADC/MH certification, including 90 hours in drug and alcohol-specific education, as defined by the Oklahoma Drug and Alcohol Professional Counselor Association (ODAPCA).

Certification Requirements
- Education Required: Master’s degree in addiction counseling or clinical counseling.
- Work Experience: 2,000 hours.
- Supervised Hours: 300-hour practicum (minimum 10 hours in each of the 12 core functions).
- State Exam: IC&RC AADC exam.
Important Notes
The LADC/MH designation adds the ability to assess, diagnose, and treat mental health disorders within the SUD counseling scope of practice.
Renewal Requirements
20 continuing education hours every 2 years, including a minimum of 10 hours alcohol and drug-specific and 3 hours professional ethics.
