Course Description: Wisdom of the Twelve Steps – 6th Step covers the Sixth Step of the Twelve Steps, designed for addiction counselors and other helping professionals who guide clients through the recovery process. Professionals will deepen their understanding of how clients engage with this stage of step work across a range of addictive and compulsive behaviors, including substance use, gambling, eating disorders, and other maladaptive patterns. The course draws on the perspective that these behaviors share common roots in dysfunctional coping and the use of external solutions for internal problems. Counselors will come away better equipped to support clients navigating the challenges and changes inherent in Twelve Step recovery.
