Initial Certification Packages
- Degree / Education Required
- CADC: Associate’s degree minimum in a relevant field covering the ADC domains. CAAC: High school diploma or GED.
- Work Experience Hours Required
- CADC: 5,000 hours of addiction-specific work experience. CAAC: 8,000 hours of addiction-specific work experience.
- Direct Supervision Hours
- CADC: 250 hours of on-the-job clinical supervision, with a minimum of 10 hours in each of the 4 ADC domains. CAAC: 400 hours of on-the-job supervision, with a minimum of 20 hours in each domain.
- State Certification Exam
- Passing score on the IC&RC ADC exam.

- 100 hours of on-the-job clinical supervision, with a minimum of 10 hours in each of the 4 AADC domains.
- State Certification Exam
- Passing score on the IC&RC AADC exam.

What are the requirements for Delaware CADC certification?
Delaware requires 300 hours of addiction-specific training, a high school diploma or GED, 4,000 hours of work experience, 150 hours of clinical supervision, and a passing score on the IC&RC ADC exam.
Can I complete Delaware CADC training online?
Yes. Delaware does not limit online education hours for the CADC or CAADC. CEU Matrix offers the full 300-hour CADC package and 180-hour CAADC package online through Delaware Certification Board (DCB)-approved coursework.
How many CE hours are needed for Delaware certification renewal?
40 hours of continuing education every 2 years, including 3 hours of ethics. This applies to both the CADC and CAADC credentials.
