Initial Certification Packages
Mississippi CADC, CADC I, CADC II, and CAADC Initial Certification - 300 hours
Package Education Hours: 300 Hours
- Degree / Education Required
- CADC: High school diploma or GED. CADC-I: Bachelor’s degree. CADC-II: Master’s degree. CAADC: Master’s degree with clinical application.
- Work Experience Hours Required
- CADC: 6,000 hours (reduced by degree level); CADC-I: 8,000 hours; CADC-II: 10,000 hours; CAADC: 4,000 hours.
- Direct Supervision Hours
- Supervised Practical Training (SPT) tiered by education level (applies across CADC, CADC-I, CADC-II, and CAADC): High School/GED: 300 hours; Associate’s degree: 250 hours; Bachelor’s degree: 200 hours; Master’s degree (including CAADC): 100 hours. Minimum 10 hours per performance domain.
- State Certification Exam
- CADC/CADC-I/CADC-II: Passing score on the IC&RC ADC exam. CAADC: Passing score on the IC&RC AADC exam.

Mississippi requires 300 hours of education specific to the 12 Core Functions and 46 Global Criteria for CADC and CAADC credentials. This CEU Matrix 300-hour package provides full coverage of the required education hours. Mississippi accepts online and home-study courses as an approved education format with no stated distance learning limit — all 300 hours may be completed online. A minimum of 6 hours must be in ethics (MAAP-provided course required) and 6 hours in HIV/AIDS.
Mississippi Certified Criminal Justice Addictions Professional (CCJP) - 100 hours
Package Education Hours: 50 Hours
- Degree / Education Required
- Must hold an active CADC, CADC-I, CADC-II, or CAADC credential at IC&RC reciprocal level (prerequisite).
- Work Experience Hours Required
- 2,000 hours of supervised work experience in a criminal justice addictions setting.
- Direct Supervision Hours
- Included in the required 2,000 hours of work experience — no separate supervised practical training (SPT) requirement for CCJP.
- State Certification Exam
- Passing score on the IC&RC CCJP exam.
